Jeffrey W. Wright (President)

Mr. Wright founded Heliplanners in 1987 to provide specialized site selection, planning, design and permitting assistance for public and private sector heliports. He also provides aviation safety and obstruction analyses and agency liaison for development projects proposed near airports. He is experienced in public participation and the sensitivities of aircraft noise and safety impacts on neighboring lands. Prior to establishing Heliplanners, Mr. Wright had managed aviation studies for other consulting firms since the 1970s. Mr. Wright has been invited to speak on heliport issues at workshops conducted for the California Commission on Aviation and Airports and the Southwest Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives.

REPRESENTATIVE PROJECTS

Centerport, Costa Mesa, California
Adjacent to Southern California's John Wayne/Orange County Airport, Centerport offers full service support for helicopter operations in the county. It features two landing pads and a storage - maintenance hangar for up to 15 helicopters atop an air cargo building serving the airport as well as 10,000 SF of airport frontage office space. The concept efficiently makes double use of valuable real estate - serving the county's air cargo needs while providing a focal point for helicopter aviation. Centerport, home to Tridair Helicopters and Helistream, has received significant international attention.

Hospital Helistops
Assisted dozens of hospitals and their design teams throughout the nation with heliport / helistop location, design, permit processing and environmental (mainly noise and safety) analysis.

Law Enforcement Helistops
Assisted design teams with design and processing assistance for rooftop helistops for Orange County Sheriff's Department, Pasadena and Los Angeles Police Departments.

Business Helistops
Provided design review for rooftop helistop for use of tenants at The Atrium, a twin-tower 10-story office development in Irvine. Overcame significant opposition to win planning commission approval.

Residential Helistops
Assisted with design and approvals for helistops to serve clients' business travel needs from their homes.

Aviation Safety Studies
Prepared aircraft risk hazard assessments for projects proposed near Oxnard and Camarillo airports, McClellan-Palomar Airport (Carlsbad) and MCAS El Toro. The Oxnard and Camarillo studies met local requirements for projects within the "airport spheres of influence."

Airport Safety Inspections
Under contract to the Federal Aviation Administration, Mr. Wright conducted annual safety inspections and airport facility updates of 120 general aviation airports throughout Colorado, Wyoming and North Dakota. These inspections are used to keep FAA's Airport Master Record current for each airport.

Expert Witness Services
Mr. Wright has provided expert witness services for litigation involving airport and heliport related issues. The most recent case was for Ekker vs. Griffith Construction et al, in California.
