Wayne/Orange County Airport, Centerport offers full service support for
helicopter operations in the county. It features two landing pads and a
storage/maintenance hangar for up to 15 helicopters atop an air cargo building
serving the airport as well as 10,000 square feet of airport frontage office
space. The concept efficiently makes double use of valuable real estate
- serving the county's air cargo needs while providing a focal point for
helicopter aviation. Centerport, home to Tridair Helicopters and Helistream,
has received significant international attention. Heliplanners assisted
Tridair with the heliport's design and permitting issues. The heliport
opened in 1988 and has safely experienced over 100,000 landings and takeoffs
in the intervening years.
